We spent three months researching online and in stores on the northwest side of Houston before purchasing the Chariot Cougar 2. We have four kids, and our two yougest are 3 and 13 months. We bought an Instep bike trailer in early summer second hand, which lead almost immediately to a search for something better for the kids in the way of safety and comfort and flexibility (as the owners of four different kinds of strollers too!). After taking the little kiddos to fit the Chariot and a few of the Burley options, and doing a ton of online reading of customer reviews, comparison shopping, etc., we decided to spend the extra money—these are considerably more than any lower end model and about 25-50%+ more than a Burley—and buy a Chariot Cougar 2.

The Chariot Cougar 2 is the epitomy of luxury and saftey and flexibility. While you only get a chassis, you can buy numerous conversion kits, which all store on the chassis while it’s in use in another way, it allows maximum flexibility for biking, jogging, strolling, hiking, and skiing. They are $70-$75 each, and you buy only what you would actually use. It does come with the handle to use it strolling/jogging. We bought the bike kit, which came with reflectors, an easy release to get the chassis on and off any bike—a HUGE upgrade from the InStep’s system which was really hard to get on and off my bike to the point that my hands were not strong enough, and I had to get help and use a screwdriver to leverage it off! I can get the chassis off my bike in 2 seconds, literally. It has this fast release system that was easy to put on my bike, so it would be easy to move it to my husband’s bike if he wanted to tow the kids instead. Loved that. We will get the jogging kit in a few weeks when it cools down here a bit. The Chariot Cougar 2 enabled me to sell both my single and my double jogger, since this can function as both of those, and that freed up a ton of space in our garage and gave me cash toward this purchase.

The inside of the chassis is so comfortable for the kids. The seat is very, very padded, and the five point harnesses are first class—nothing out there like it on any of the other trailers or even the joggers—and you have the ability to unclip both of them, take one of them, reclip it in the center, and allow one kiddo to ride alone in the middle. It has all kinds of sun protection, rain protection, bug and flying debris protection–a big deal when you are biking—and lots and lots of storage with pockets on the inside for the kids, and then compartments outside for the user. The wheels are extrememly easy to take on and off–one push of a botton on the wheel shaft and they pop right off–if you need to break it down flat to store/transport it. The bike kit assembled very easily on to both the chassis and to my bike. There is a weight considered suspension system that will account for the differences in the weigh of my kids, which makes a really nice ride for them. The wheels are nice and big, as are the windows, which are tinted, for the kids to be able to see everything.

I love that this is made in Canada and not China or somewhere overseas. It is totally solid. What parts are plastic are extremely heavy duty. It has good leg space and a heavy duty roll cage. The only thing that made no sense to me was the design placement of the sun shade, which is inside the protective mesh cover. The kids can grab it from their seats; my kids are the kind who would do something like that. It made more sense to me from a design standpoint that it would be placed over the mesh cover and under the rain guard (to be rolled up into two elastic bands when not in use). I would love for the company to redesign that, otherwise, WOW. What a world-class piece of equipment. I feel like I am extremely spoiled by this purchase and look forward to years of use. We considered buying one second hand but the warranty is a limited lifetime warranty, meaning only for the original owners. I heard great things about the warranty service from other owners as I researched and feel good about the decision to buy new since this is a longevity purchase. It’s pricey but worth it if you are very active and want something that is flexible, comfortable for your kids (we are out for a minimum of an hour, usually more like 2 hours), and very safe. I highly recommend the Chariot Cougar 2 and love ours.

Wheels are circular shaped, and rotate on their axils, therefore bringing about a movement which helps vehicles move. It is said that the Mesopotamians invented the wheel in 3500 BC. Initially it was used for the purpose of pottery, later it was used as an important means of transportation. The Mesopotamians first used the wheel for transportation of their chariots in 3200 BC. After the Industrial Revolution, the wheel became an important element of technology. Today, there are many kinds of wheels available in the market, and each of them has very specific purposes.

Weld Wheels were invented in 1967. The idea behind their invention was to create tougher, light weight, and reliable set of wheels for usages of both on and off the race track. Weld wheels are essentially used for racing, and are also referred to as Weld Racing Wheels. These wheels are known for in drag, circle track and off-road racing. They are also available for sand sports, and off-road racing. Weld Racing apparel such as Re Kap Shop shirts, motorcycle tees, hats and Chariot Trailer Dickies Jackets are a new line of clothing that is now available in the market.

The Weld Racing Organization, a group dedicated to manufacturing advanced forged alloy wheels ensures that the wheels are of highest quality to improve performance and appearance of race-cars, off-road trucks, sand rails, luxury pickups, Sport Utility Vehicles, premium motor cars, customs, hot rods, motorcycles, trailers, sprint cars, midgets, NHRA top fuel, and pro stock. This organization also makes sure they bring you the latest technologies and styles in the motorcycle industry without having to compromise with safety and dependability offered by the Weld Racing Wheels. Each of these new designs is Jesso tested to guarantee you a safe and secure travel. The Weld Racing Wheels usually come in a polished or show chrome finish. This show chrome has nearly three years of warranty, and all Weld Wheels come with a lifetime structural warranty.

The Weld Motorcycle wheels are made to be resistant from heat and extremely intense pressure. All the Weld Wheels are produced in-house at the Kansas City, Missouri facility. The production of these wheels is started from scratch using raw 6061 aircraft grade aluminum. Each wheel is forged into the exact requirements because forging is the lightest and strongest way to produce a high performance wheel. Once every wheel is checked and certified they undergo heat treating. After this process, they wheels are put on a blank form and shifted onto a computerized numerically controlled mill.

With the help of latest technology, it is during this process that the wheels are carved with detailed designs and superior finishes. Each wheel is then shifted to the polishing section. Extremely skilled craftsmen work on every square inch of the forged aluminum to bring out a radiant luster. These wheels are then taken straight for the assembly of polished goods or to the house chrome line. All through the distinctive proprietary chroming process, the wheels are changed into radiant, luminous, high performance equipments made especially for your vehicle.

We have a tall 2 1/2 year old and an 11 month old. We tried some of the cheaper bike trailers (in-step) and we even bought a Burley. My kids hated them because the seat wasn’t a true seat. It was a piece of mesh without any support. We took the plunge and bought a Chariot Cougar 2 and we are so happy! Yes, it is costly, but it’s worth it. We bought the jogging attachment so I could go jogging. Both kids are perfectly happy. The mesh screen, sun protector and wind blocker work great. There is a great storage compartment the folds up and there are 2 extra mesh pockets inside for the kids. The seat is fabulous…they are so comfortable and I love the buckle features. The other trailers had straps that would dig into their backs…not the chariot. We have gone on bike rides and jogs…this is the best investment. We did not buy the stroller attachment because I feel that the jogging wheel is good enough. It does not swivel, but it’s really easy to lift slightly and turn corners. You’ll be so happy with this product and I know we’ll use ours for years…and the resale value is great!
